I know it’s October, but I never wrote about my Iceland trip in September.
This was a big year for me: publishing my eighth story, seeing my first son get married, and marking a milestone birthday. Whew! That’s just three of the big events that happened in 2026.
To celebrate, these lovely women and I celebrated our decades’ long friendship in Iceland! I’ve known two of them since we were babies in our church nursery. I met the other one in first grade. That’s a lot of friendship and secrets and laughter!

Posing before we left!

Posing at the Black Sand Beach!
We have one more friend who usually hangs out with us, but she visited Iceland with her husband instead. Don’t worry. She can come on the next trip!
Even with the daily rain (we were prepared), we enjoyed experiencing this beautiful country.

And look what showed up on the famous beach, too!

Shameless self-promotion. Sorry! You don’t have to go to Iceland to read this book. Go here if you want to see a cool graphic I created. Then go here if you want to buy one!
Iceland is an easy, direct flight from Raleigh. Everyone we met spoke English, and all the signs included English, too. It’s an easy, welcoming, beautiful place to visit.
Make plans to go!
