Does this landmark look familiar? It’s the Hatteras Lighthouse.
I’m writing from Hatteras Island this week. I’m sharing a house with five other Christian fiction authors and a friend who’s here to cook our dinners for us. It’s an all-writing week.
I’m working on blog posts to coincide with the release of my fourth book next May. I’m also working on edits of that book. Finally, I’m working on book number five. I want to answer questions I have for the new story, flesh it out, figure out the conflict, and write beyond the five chapters I already have.
I’m praying to hear direction from God, for focus, for courage, and for follow-through.
Today I was reminded of my Grateful List.
I’m grateful for a husband who supports me financially and spiritually, who’s interested in and encouraging about my journey.
I’m grateful for children who are excited for me and who pray for me, for friends who pray for me.
I’m grateful for the education and expertise to write. I’m grateful for the stories that come.
I’m grateful for a new-to-me laptop, colored pens, writing books, and trips to conferences and retreats.
I’m grateful for writing friends who know what the journey calls for and encourage me to keep going.
I’m grateful for an agent, a publisher, and readers who tell me how much they enjoy my stories.
The Outer Banks is a good place to be.
So is grateful.
