I just took a sabbatical from blogging.
At least that’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.
I meant to write last month. Actually, I meant to write more posts and write more consistently than previous months. My husband has a saying: Mr. Meant-to had a friend, Mr. Didn’t-do. Yeah. That’s pretty much it.
My life became demanding on many fronts, and I sailed along with it, not demanding writing time from my life. Now I’m facing getting back in the writing saddle with double the fears and doubts and procrastination tendencies that usually accompany it.
So here’s my first blog of June with no apologies or excuses, just a confession about my silence.
I’m reminded of the verse from Joel, “I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten—” Joel 2:25 In my case, the locusts weren’t real insects. They were everything I allowed to eat my writing time, which ultimately leads back to me.
So while I’m praying for forgiveness of wasted time, opportunity, and talent, I’m also trusting God to keep His promise.
No more locusts.
No more sabbaticals.
