Let’s just get this straight. I hate running 5Ks.
Even so, I find myself running 5Ks .
Here’s a list of some of the 5Ks I’ve run:
Quinn’s Eagle Project–run to add children’s books to our public library.
Feel the Burn–fundraiser for our fire department
Uganda–fundraiser for our church’s mission trip to Uganda
Senior Class–fundraiser for a senior class at our high school
Java Jog –fundraiser for our high school sponsored by my favorite coffee shop, Milltown Java
In #4, Josie reluctantly signs up to run a 5K because Ches guilts her in to it. The fun part, however, is Ches helps prepare her for the race.
Her attitude comes straight from my negative attitude toward running. I truly do not enjoy it at all. Go here to read more of my thoughts on running. Here’s one more post . Need another one? (I didn’t remember writing so many posts on running.)
A Secret About Josie’s Run
The funny thing about Josie’s 5K and how she did in the race is I wrote that scene months before my run in the Java Jog. Crazy, but true. Fiction copied real life, sort of. I told my husband when I finished, people will think Josie’s race is about me! Go here to read about that run and the real outcome of the rankings.
Another run?
Guess what? I’ve signed up for a 50K. Hard to believe, I know, but true. It’s called 50K Your Way. That means I can walk, run, bike–whatever I want, whenever I want…and I have five weeks to complete it. Go here to read all the details.
What about you, readers? Are you a runner or do you prefer other forms of exercise? Or had you rather your exercise come in the form of turning the pages in a good book? Let me know in the comments!
