Happy New Year, four days late!
I’m trying to catch up from all the celebrations in the last few weeks–Thanksgiving, Ranger School Graduation (!!), Christmas–so here I am writing about resolutions at the end of the first week of January.
I don’t always choose a word or a new verse or make resolutions for the year, but in the past few days I’ve been thinking about my children a lot. Three were home for Christmas, and I’m shaking off the last of the melancholy that always descends at their exit. One is still deployed to Iraq, but we’re counting down to his homecoming in weeks now. Praise God!
This year, I decided I want to be more like my children. I want to be more organized (that’s mainly Hattie–sorry, you other three!) I want to live a bit more fearlessly–that’s all of them. I want to be more determined and focused, too.
Finally, I want to speak more quickly about God. I’m not normally the first to speak up, unfortunately. I want to change that.
I’ll let you know how it goes.
