I love books and reading and meeting authors! During the summer, I’ve had the good fortune to meet two wonderful authors.
You may know Sean Dietrich by his other name, Sean of the South. He’s musically talented and a talented author, too. On the night we saw him, he played at least four different instruments including an accordion. He gave a thoroughly entertaining show with funny, heart-felt stories and got the audience going with a sing-along. He’s the kind of person who makes you wish he was your best friend.
He takes time to chat with everyone who waits in line for him.
His memoir, Will the Circle be Unbroken?, is a must-read, but be warned. It might break your heart.
He’s a southerner, so he hugs your neck.
USA Today bestselling author, Donna Everhart, spoke for our Princeton Public Library fundraiser brunch. She was gracious and interesting and fun to get to know! I’m so proud that she’s a North Carolina author.
Her latest novel, When the Jessamine Grows, was our book club pick for July. It’s a well-written, interesting book in that the protagonist is a woman who tries to be neutral during the Civil War. I don’t remember a Civil War book with this perspective.
