August is my birthday month, and I want you to help me celebrate! Keep your money, however. Write book reviews instead, please!
How do I write book reviews?
Don’t know how? A good friend of mine created a short video to show exactly how to write one. Click here to learn how.
Don’t like to write? Don’t think English class essay. A review can be just a short sentence or two. Just write what you liked about it–the characters, the setting, the fun dialog?
Already written one for Forever Music? You can participate in the party by writing one for Irish Encounter or Rescued Hearts.
Why should I write book reviews?
Here’s a fun incentive: if Forever Music receives 100 book reviews by the end of next week my birthday week), I’ll reveal my age. WHAT? It’s true. That’s how important these reviews are. Readers look to see how many other readers have read the book. Publishers look to see how many people are reading the book. Amazon shows books with lots of reviews more frequently to readers and also links them to other books.
If I have my math right, I need 61 reviews by August 15th. If everyone who bought one at my drive-by COVID-style book launch back in May, I’d be eleven book reviews from my goal. Okay, that’s enough math for me!
Please, won’t you help out an author? Write book reviews. If you’ve already written one for all of my books (THANK YOU, btw), write one for another author or two. They’ll appreciate it as much as I do.
I don’t read reviews, so if you want me to know you wrote one, leave a comment.
Check back here next week for the total and maybe…my real age!
