Here’s a beautiful new beginning to a New Year.
I hope your New Year has begun in a positive way. I had to begin with the lucky foods, of course.
From the top right: barbequed boneless pork chop, black-eyed peas (not ever my favorite, but I want to earn some money this year), and then steamed mustard greens and kale (not the normal greens here in North Carolina, but I had these greens in our freezer.)
We’ve already had a snow event in the beginning of January. Really, it was more of an ice event at our house, but it gave me an excuse to do some more baking. Not that I need an excuse!
The round loaves are sunflower bread. The large rectangle loaf is chocolate banana bread. (Click the name for the recipe.) The small rectangle loaf is apple cider bread. I experimented exchanging apple cider with beer because we have some left over from Christmas punches. It’s delicious with only the cider and self-rising flour. No extra sugar. A bonus!
Let me know how your year is going so far!
